The romantic garden characterizes itself with its colourful herbaceous borders with a minimum depth of 2 meters and key tree hedges as background.

A lawn almost seems indispensable in an herbaceous border garden, just like a bench at the end of the path. Pergolas, an arch of roses, little corners, picturesque sights and ornamental shapes are used a lot in these gardens. This type needs a lot of maintenance, especially the first few years after construction and during spring the weeds need to be controlled on a weekly basis. Herbaceous plants need to be taken up and split almost yearly and the roses and other flowering shrubs need pruning.

Gravel is often used for pathways. If you have plenty of spare time and gardening is a hobby of yours, the romantic garden may be just the garden for you!
